Traineeships - What It Takes

The hospitality industry in Australia is rapidly expanding thus creating an increased demand for skilled staff. A Traineeship offers you the chance to start a dynamic career in this exciting industry.

As a Trainee you will gain new skills, experience and qualifications to start your career on a path that you will find both exciting and rewarding.

Cooking and Food & Beverage Traineeships usually last for twelve or twenty four months and are comprised of both "on" and "off" the job training.

 

After extensive discussion regarding experience and career expectations, candidates are then matched to a suitable Host trainer within the Network for on the job training, with the benefit of ongoing onsite support from HTN Field Consultants.

 

Prospective Food & Beverage Trainees should be well groomed and keen to work in a customer service environment. The hospitality industry involves shift work and at times working under pressure. Trainees should show initiative and be able to work well in team environment.

 

Food and Beverage Trainees must also be eighteen years of age or older at the commencement of on the job training due to liquor licensing laws.

 

Once the Traineeship is completed, the Trainee is ideally situated to articulate into other areas of the hospitality industry and progress through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
