Employees - Occupational Health and Safety

HTN is committed to an extensive Occupational Health and Safety Program that is designed to ensure that all HTN employees are provided with relevant information, training and ongoing advice in relation to workplace safety.

The HTN OHS Committee

The HTN Occupational Health and Safety Committee is comprised of representation from HTN Apprentice/Trainees, Host Employers, HTN staff and management. The committee meets on a bi-monthly basis to examine and discuss issues relating to the health, safety and welfare associated with HTN's employment activities and makes recommendations to HTN's management.

The meeting minutes are sent to all HTN employees or can be down loaded by clicking here. Current Meeting Minutes

All HTN employees are consulted on a regular basis regarding OHS issues in the workplace, however, issues can be raised on your behalf at OHS Committee meetings via the HTN Apprentice/Trainee representative.

Risk Management

An important part of HTN's OHS Program relates to Risk Management. HTN Field Consultants will assess the risks in your workplace regularly to ensure that risks are identified, rated and dealt with so as to eliminate or minimise hazards.

You also have an obligation to report any risks that you identify in the workplace to your Host employer as well as your Field Consultant.

HTN's corporate sponsor, Goodman Fielder Food Services, recognises the need to ensure the health, safety and well being of all hospitality workers and have developed a manual handling resource for you to display in the workplace. To download this excellent resource, click here.
